With Sonys Liepzig show over we can finally see what Sony has been working on, but one of Sonys more interesting projects is the new application for the PsEye, named EyePet.
EyePet takes advantage of technology we’ve seen previously in Playstation Eye , allowing users to draw and scan in objects that the in-game creature will play with. The EyePet is said to remember objects it is shown and modify its behavior for objects that it is unfamiliar with. Although at the moment information and pictures of this application are quite scarse I’m sure with the big gap between now and its release date Sony will fill us in.
Newly announced at Leipzig, the Playstation 3’s controllers, both dualshock and sixaxis, will be getting a new piece of hardware to assist PS3 users while they are using the machine. The keypad will be snapped on top of the controller and has some incredible features including a mode that turns the main key area into a touch pad (similar to a touch pad on a Laptop computer). Once in this mode, you can slide your finger on this area to move the cursor on the screen and tap to enter. There will be two short cut buttons on the Keypad that will enable users to jump directly to the XMB’s “Friends” icon and the “Message Box” during gameplay.
The Wireless Keypad is a Bluetooth device that can not only be used with the PS3 system but with any other Bluetooth enabled device that has Keyboard functionality. You will be able to use it with your smart phones and other portable devices that are equipped with Bluetooth. With the PS3 system, it can be paired and charged seamlessly just by connecting them with a USB cable.
The Wireless Keypad will launch in late November.

Ye,s finally today, after quite a long drought without a firmware update we see Sony deliver to us version 2.17, so is it time to rejoice? All in all…no, as all this update does is fix bugs in the current system and also allows for PS2 game installs onto the PS3, which means that if you had a game which required a HDD for the PS2 you can now play it and to save its data on the PS3. So not much to report other than Stabilizing PS3 software and allowing PS2 games which require a HDD to be saved to the PS3
Recently released onto the US PSN store is Devil May Cry 4 Trial Version. Many people should know of the Devil May Cry series from the Playstation 2, which spawned 2 sequels on that console, and as the games advanced, both graphically and in plot, they gradually got better in all aspects. Moreover from what I have seen from the demo and the trailers that the game indeed lives up to the name, and continues in the updates in graphics and story, which now involves a new playable character named Nero (pictured below)
This, along with the new and improved graphics, should prove this game worthy of its press review score of 8.6
Features:
You can look forward to seeing this game in stores from the 5th of February.

Furthermore while this update may show that SCEE has not forgotten about the Singstar franchise the update is not going to bring happiness to those who are not fans of supergrass or blur, as they together add up to half the songs which were added, but as this may be a disapointment to some people they may take solace in the fact that this update shows that they haven’t forgotten about the Singstore and that there are more updates on the way
The songs in the update include:
Arrested Development – Tennessee
Blur – Girls & Boys
Blur – The Universal
Blur – To The End
Blur – She’s So High
Cartel – Lose It
David Bowie – Life On Mars?
The Fray – How To Save A Life
KT Tunstall – Suddenly I See
