Guns ready!

Time Crisis 4 is now out and available to purchase for the Playstation 3.

I’ve seen the game packaged in the usual Blu-Ray case which obvioulsy means that it does NOT include guns. I guess you just use your sixaxis but the real fun is when you buy the main Time Crisis 4 package which comes with one of those funky light guns!

Well, I don’t know about you but there is only one way to play this game and that is arcade-style with guns locked and loaded, shooting at the array of baddies that are thrown at you.

On your feet. Take aim. Time Crisis 4 is the first next-generation instalment of the classic PlayStation arcade shooter – and with High Definition graphics, improved gameplay, an all-new First Person Shooter mode and the next-generation G-Con™ 3 controller with 6 action buttons and dual analogue sticks, it’s bound to hit the target.

You are VSSE agent Giorgio Bruno. Your mission: to prevent a top secret weapon from falling into the hands of international terrorists. Your tools: skill, speed and the revolutionary G-Con 3 controller, featuring, for the first time, dual analogue sticks. It’s pure arcade-style shooting action in the Time Crisis style that all PlayStation fans know and love. Take cover, reload, aim and fire.

  • Includes the G-Con 3 controller, featuring dual analogue sticks to control the character’s movement for the first time.
  • For the first time ever in Time Crisis history, players can roam freely through five new FPS stages.
  • An upgraded arsenal includes grenade launchers and machine guns

COD4 VARIETY MAP PACK REVIEW

After all the waiting, the variety map pack that IW promised us has finally arrived. I downloaded and played the maps today about 15 mins after they were put on the Playstation Store, first I had a little scoot around the maps on my own to get my bearings and I found that they weren’t as good as I thought they were going to be.

Creek – This was the first map I played and it is big, a little too big actually for an outdoor forest map. You cannot see any of the players (unless you are a sniper) from the opposite team because the trees are so dense and it is all up and down in and out. I also thought IW said, ‘tired of Russian forests and Middle Eastern villages’ yes we are, but they give us some more, Creek is Russian (just look at the signs near the houses) and Broadcast is Iraqi (Middle Eastern?).

I would rate Creek an average map at 5/10.

Chinatown - This is the 2nd map I played, as I did in Creek I had a scoot round to find my bearings and then jumped into matches, I was quite impressed, there are a lot of places to hide, snipe and run about looking for people to kill, so the best one so far. This is defintley different from any other map before and is pretty good too!

I would rate Chinatown at a very good 8/10.

Broadcast – The 3rd map I played, and it won’t be the last time either, this map has everything you could possibly want in a COD4 map, lots and lots of space, plenty of sniping spots and lots of places to attack! The main hall has almost 10 entrances which makes it hard to defend in search and destroy and domination ect which is good for the people trying to attack! The best map of the lot so far!

I would rate Broadcast at awesome 9/10!

Killhouse – The last map I played, it might be the last time aswell, it is awful, there is a watch tower bang in the middle where if you get up you die within 2 seconds, walls all over and lots of red arrows? Not my favourite map I have to admit. I see what IW have tried to do, but sorry guys it hasn’t worked. It is basically a warehouse set up as an army training centre.

I would rate Killhouse at a poor 4/10. Sorry IW.

So the map to play in the new variety map pack is Broadcast, I don’t think the DLC is worth £6.99 but, you’ve got to make money somewhere. Also releasing them so close to the release of the awesome GTA IV hasn’t done IW much good either, with people opting for GTA rather than COD4.

Look out for the COD4 Live events on www.PS3multiplayer.com .

FEATURES LEAKED FOR GTA IV!!

Everyone is waiting for the release of GTA IV in 12 days, taking sleeping tablets to pass the time one. But here are some more details leeked about GTA IV, check these out….

  • Mini-games confirmed for GTA IV include pool, basketball, darts, golfing at driving ranges and arcade games, such as Go Go Space Monkey, which was also featured in San Andreas.
  • The trucking company from San Andreas, RS Haul, returns and missions based around the company have returned as well.
  • ‘Gruppe Sechs’ securicars have returned and players are able to steal them and deliver them to locations for a reward, but this task is said to be much trickier than in previous games.
  • The game features many references to ‘Crackdown,’ a GTA-style game available for the Xbox 360 which also uses RenderWare, GTA’s previous engine.
  • Vehicles such as the Stallion and Comet from previous games appear in IV, as well as the NRG500, a motorcycle. A new motorcycle called the NHG900RR is also confirmed to be in the game and is rumored to be the fastest one available.

  • Similarly to Saints Row, yet another GTA-style sandbox game, phone numbers are scattered throughout the city and you can call them for whatever services they entail.
  • A place called the Videogeddon Arcade allows you to play arcade games and posters attacking violent video games can be seen.
  • The ’sky tram’ featured on the box-art for GTA IV can actually be used as a mode of transportation, although it costs money as do the taxis.

    MGS4 BETA!

Yup, you saw correctly a BETA for North America when you pre-order

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the patriots in April. Customers from Game stop and some other stores will receive a promotion DVD that contains a code to access the online BETA code in which you can access multiplayer game modes.

So lucky for North America, they get to brush up in their skills so they can own all of us, sadly for Europe we miss out, its quite annoying that Sony have just decided to leave Europe out of their plans. But rest assured, if you are a Hard-Core MGS fan, there are some pre-order packages, along with the BETA code on www.ebay.co.uk.

But like me, if you think something around £20 is too much for a few days of a BETA I would wait for the full version to come out in June.

    PS3 Dualshock 3 Sixaxis Controller

During its press conference at the 2007 Tokyo Game Show, Sony finally announced the worst kept secret in gaming, the Dual Shock 3. The new controller looks exactly like the Sixaxis from the outside, with the only difference being that it now says Dual Shock 3 instead of Sixaxis on the top.

Sony announced that a number of games that are appearing at Tokyo Game Show already support the rumble functionality, including Metal Gear Solid 4 (and MGS Online), Devil May Cry 4, echochrome, Ratchet & Clank Future, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Dynasty Warriors 6 and Burnout Paradise looks to also support the new controller.

Along with its new rumble functionality, the Dual Shock 3 will still support the motion sensing function of the Sixaxis.

Smackdown vs Raw 2009! First Look!

Maybe, you are not a fan of THQ’s Smackdown vs Raw wrestling games, I’m not, as a matter of fact. I wouldn’t be suprised if you aren’t judging by what THQ came up with in the 2007 and 2008 Smackdown vs Raw games. Here is a sneek look at what may be included to change our views  in Smackdown vs Raw 2009 and a few screenshots:

*Tag Team Explosion – WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2009 unleashes a brand new tag team match. Build momentum and attributes as a team, destroy opponents with high-impact double teams, pull off new bone-crunching tag team finishers and get the “hot tag” for the win.

*Road To Wrestlemania – Pave the way to WWE’s biggest event of the year through WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2009’s new story mode, which features the franchise’s first-ever co-op storyline.
*Create A Finisher – Construct the most devastating moves ever unleashed in a WWE ring with this brand new interface. WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2009 lets players customize all aspects of created Superstars – even their very own finishing moves.
*New Online Functions – Extend the WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2009 gameplay experience with downloadable content and much more!

I may just keep my eye out for this one, I think you should too, now take a look at some shots from the forth coming ultimate brawling game.

Battle Field Bad Company, Multiplayer Mode.

    UPDATE:

It’s been a while since we heard about Battle Field Bad Company on ps3news.eu. Since then there has been a hell of a lot of work out into the multiplayer aspect of the game. For people who are new to the Battle Field series the game has been a popular online shooter for pc and playstation for some years now, and has been notoriously known in the market for its huge maps and chaotic vehicles and guns, whether that will be jets or tanks.

If you have been following the development and watching developer blogs, you will know that one of the best features in the game is the destructible environment in the game, that gives you the ability to bring towns and villages to a mere pile of rubble. The developers have used this in online too which makes the game more addicting and maybe carves a path more developers will follow.

One of the featured game modes I have looked at is “Gold Rush” this game mode involves two teams the Defenders and the Attackers. The Defending team must protect their base(s) which contain boxes full of gold in any means necessary weather that is hogging the LMG guns, using Air Strikes to wreak havoc amongst enemy front lines or simply run around town running and gunning and blowing holes in walls.

The Attacking team if you haven’t gathered must capture the gold from the Defending team, there is a slight advantage though…The more crates they unlock the further the Defending team must retreat, this enable the Attacking to gain more vehicles to continue the assault until the defending team are pushed back so far, they can’t retreat anymore.

Final words: The game play so far shown in the video looks promising, the visuals look up to scratch and the whole game its self is looking pretty sweet. I myself have never played any of the Battle Field series, but from what has been said, it has a lot to live up to. I’m  sure PS3 users all over the world veterans or newcomers will be looking forward to the game. Lucky for the Xbox 360 users, the BETA was released earlier this week, like me if you have friends with Xbox 360’s I am sure you’re itching to go around their house.

    That’s all for now…

    Grand Turismo 5 Prologue Review

As we approach the 10th Anniversary of one of the world’s biggest selling racing video games, the 5th title of Grand Turismo arrives, only a taster of what is yet to come though. Grand Turismo 5 Prolouge delivers a sample of what is to be seen in the forth coming Grand Turismo 5 which is expected to hit the shelves sometime in 2009. For now though we will have to do with what is already here.

GT5 Prologue delivers more than that is expected of a standard racing game. For starters, the astonishing 1080p HD graphics are a real boost for the game, evidental skid and tire marks on the track, the cockpit view which shows hands on the wheel in game and amazing light visuals and reflections are all features of a great racing game. Although there are a few little technical glitches in GT5 Prologue which are not major but noticable, you may think why has the driver not taken his hands off the steering wheel when changing gear? or why do I have to complete races more than once to purchase the car needed for the next event? or even why does the car in front of me never brake?  well, I have thought this too, but to be honest do those amazing graphics and tire marks not make up for it (please remember this is a sort of demo not the real game and they may be improved on the next verison of GT5).

Overall I would rate this game…  7/10     Give It A Go!!
